PM Switches from Facebook to Telegram for Public Communication

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen will no longer be using his Facebook account as his primary means of communication to the public. He will instead use Telegram as his main source of broadcasting voice messages and information. He also created a TikTok account to broaden his audience.

The Prime Minister is making the switch because he says broadcasting information through Telegram is faster than Facebook. His Telegram channel currently has over 80,000 subscribers. In a message on his channel, he wrote, "This makes it easier for me to communicate with people when I travel to countries that do not allow Facebook. I will keep my Facebook, but I will suspend it so that you will receive information from me through Telegram, YouTube, and Instagram.

The Prime Minister also created a TikTok account to connect with the youth.
